Introducing Boat #3 in the Roatan Divers Fleet: Freya
Freya is a panga-style boat that runs 30 feet long by 7 feet wide. She has a custom designed roof and is built with our divers in mind. With 24 tank holders, she can comfortably hold 14 people. By adding this third boat to our fleet, we can better provide private boat charters to our guests who request it, without comprising our availability to the rest of our customer base.
Freya, in old Nordic mythology known as "The Lady", quickly caught our attention when we discovered that this goddess' chariot was pulled not by horses but by two male cats. For those of you who have had the distinct pleasure of meeting Singha the shop cat, you can see where our love and devotion to animals, especially cats, come from.
Freya is powered by a 200hp Yamaha engine that, like the other boats in our fleet, gets our divers to where they want to go quickly and comfortably. The design of a panga boat is popular in diving destinations like Roatan for their high bow, which helps minimize the spray coming over the bow.
On December 5th, around the same time as we launched Sága a year ago, Freya underwent her maiden voyage. We are thrilled to have her join the family. She is a wonderful addition to the team, and she and Rán complement each other to provide the best service for our guests, both for students and fun divers. For the greatest diversity in high quality, custom designed, and well-maintained boats on Roatan, continue to count on Roatan Divers and the RD fleet to get you there!
